My inspiration arises from everyday situations as well as from nature. Some of my specific topics are Beauty in Data, Chance & Variation, AI in Creative Practice, Order and Disorder in Nature.
For me, creating art is a way of reflecting on life and the world.
My practice as an artist explores themes of identity, individuality, and imagination. To investigate commonalities and differences in perspectives, I often use a serial approach. This enables comparison, thinking beyond boundaries, and even pursuing aesthetic research.
When developing a new series of e.g. digital artworks, I typically write a computer program to manage repetitive tasks: testing variations, selecting colors, and combining forms. By defining a possibility space and setting certain restrictions, my programs can generate hundreds or even thousands of variations. From this abundance of results, I carefully select the works that most fully embody my artistic vision.
My work is characterized by fluid transitions between lines, structures, surfaces, and colors - evoking, for instance, the organic harmony of natural forms.
My goal is to invite viewers to embrace the aesthetics of reduction and to discover beauty within elemental patterns and structures.
